Biography :

Karen Sands, MCC, BCC Karen Sands is an Evolutionary Wisdom Futurist™, Gray Is the New Green™ GeroFuturist™, Ageless Way Gerontologist™, and Architect of Regenerative Systems for the Human–AI & 100-Year Lives Era. Her work explores the capacities individuals, enterprises, and societies need to participate consciously and intentionally in shaping wiser shared futures. For more than six decades, Karen has worked at the intersections of futures, leadership, enterprise transformation, adult human development, gerontology, and regenerative systems. Throughout that journey, one living inquiry has remained constant: What capacities must people, enterprises, and societies cultivate to consciously and intentionally participate in shaping Wise Shared Futures™? Karen began her professional life as a science educator and district science chair before becoming an entrepreneur, executive leadership pioneer, corporate futurist, and intrapreneur. Across her career she has worked with executives, entrepreneurs, educators, and enterprise leaders navigating profound discontinuity, grounded in a simple distinction: while capabilities expand what becomes possible, capacity determines what can emerge, deepen, and endure. Following graduate studies in Gerontology and Adult Human Development, Karen became an early voice in positive aging, the future of longevity, and what are now widely understood as 100-year lives. Long before longevity became a global priority, she was exploring how increasing lifespans would reshape leadership, work, learning, identity, enterprises, and society itself. Today her work integrates evolutionary wisdom, living systems, regenerative thinking, intentionality, human development, and Human–AI collaboration. Rather than treating aging, technology, leadership, or enterprise transformation as separate disciplines, she illuminates the relationships among them and the conditions that enable wiser participation amid accelerating complexity. Karen is the author of pioneering works including Visionaries Have Wrinkles™, Gray Is the New Green™, The Ageless Way™, Radical Reinvention™, The Art of the Swerve™, and Everyday Futurists™. She is Founder of Futures by Design™ and Founder & Curator of Leading Women to Watch™, a global recognition initiative celebrating women whose leadership is shaping what comes next. Her current inquiries explore Human–AI & 100-Year Lives, enterprise capacity, evolutionary wisdom, healthy longevity, intentional participation, and the conscious co-creation of Wise Shared Futures™. Karen does not approach the future as something merely to predict. Her work illuminates the conditions through which new recognition, deeper inquiry, and wiser participation can emerge.
